Employee Spotlight Interview with Nils

Thursday, 15. July 2021 by AMROS

Meet Nils Hefti, our Continuing Airworthiness Manager. ?

Nils joined AMROS Global nearly 1 year ago and has been an indispensable part of the team since then. He works as a Continuing Airworthiness Manager and he is doing a great job in his role. We are very happy to have him on-board and here is what he would like to share about himself.

Hi Nils, thanks for sharing a bit about yourself with us, how do you feel when the world is getting back to normal after so many months of restrictions?

Hello.? I hope people make a self-reflexion of the past two years, if not, I am worried for a second lack of toilet paper.

If we go back to your younger years. Do you remember what drew you to the aviation industry? And have you ever thought of changing your career field?

My interests in Aviation started with my dad, as he brought a KLM B747-model home for me. In addition, my fathers and brothers career got me a sneak peek into my current passion. And the second questions, I think my interests in other fields are too broad to name them all. The world is exciting and fascinating!

In today’s rushed world, I always wonder how people balance their career and their private life/family? Do you have any special ways on how to do so?

I have a so called MES (mental exhaust sensor), patented of course – just kidding!? It let’s me prioritize the things I love. Further, Self-reflection is the tool to go and the best thing about it – it is totally free.

Is there something you can point out to be your favourite part about working for AMROS Global?

Yeah, I like that everyday there is something new that I can put into my experience bag.?

I really like that one! I hope you can fill it up all the way to the top and more. May I ask, how do you define success?

For me, success is being smart, conscientious, and tough.

Here is my favourite questions, if you could switch your job with anyone else within AMROS, whose job would you want and why?

It would be my colleague Stephan Bliggenstorfer and his position as the Quality and Compliance Manager. I like processes and regulations. After all, we all strive for the best as feasible.

Do you recall any embarrassing moment at work?

Either there were too many to count or none – ask my colleagues.?

We might do this in the next interview then ? What does a true leadership mean to you?

For me a true leadership means encouraging to work with somebody for a deep reason and communicate that purpose.

Great! Let’s talk a bit on the less serious note now. Any random facts about yourself you could share with us?

Yes i have three:

  1. I look younger than I am.
  2. I am good at things that make me mildly infuriating (For example Excel).?
  3. If I could travel back into time, it would be to the 80’s.

Well you are lucky one! Do you have any favourite quote?

I really like this one:,,Coke does not mention Pepsi.”

Okay and a last one to get to know you a bit better. If you were to write a book about yourself, what would you name it?

Kind & Ordinary.

That is a nice one, I might be willing to read it.? Thanks Nils.

This is all from our Nils, we hope you enjoyed this little spotlight of Nils and you can look forward to more interviews coming up soon.

Stay Tuned!

Employee Highlight: Christian Tanner

Friday, 31. January 2020 by AMROS

Another year, another Employee Highlight! Today, we are introducing our colleague Christian Tanner to the world!

Happy reading!

Meet Christian Tanner, Senior Technical Advisor at AMROS-Global. This month we would like to introduce him as our employee highlight and share an insight about him and his role at AMROS.

Q: What did you do before working at AMROS?

Before AMROS, I was Head of Maintenance at Super Constellation for 1.5 years.

However, I got my start in aviation at Swiss Air in 1986 as a sheet metal worker and then later moved into material planning. From there I moved to maintenance planning and special cabin modifications, among other tasks. Additionally, I worked at SR Technics as a Project Manager for the HMV’s.

Q: What is your current position and what does it entail?

Since July 2019, I do the maintenance planning for customers and prepare some HMV’s as well as delegate work packages. In the future I hope to make a test for the ARC inspection Part-M in BAZL so that I can do these types of tasks as well.

Q: What do you like the most about your job?

I enjoy the flexible nature of the working hours and the fact that I know my colleagues really well because we worked together in the past, which makes a nice atmosphere.

Q: What is the most challenging part of your job?

For me, the change from SAP to AMOS has been very challenging because you need to know the system well in order to work efficiently. Today, there is a lot of on-the-job training involved.

Q: Do you have any advice for anyone who would like to work in your position?

Previous knowledge in the aviation industry would be ideal. For my position specifically, a Part-M test, Microsoft office proficient, and being flexible and able to learn quickly to be efficient.

Q: What are 3 words you would use to describe AMROS?

I would say young, straight-forward, and fast-growing.

And now for a little off-topic questions to conclude this interview ?

Q: If you could have any other job for one day, what would it be?

I would be like a bird because I love being up in the sky and as a bird, you have the possibility to have amazing views.

Q: What was your most rewarding moment at work?

I was once a part of a MD-11 VIP project which ran for more than 3 years. When it was completed, we flew we Hamburg and made the handover to a prince. It was an amazing experience.

Q: If you could have dinner with any person (dead or alive), who would it be?

I would choose to be with my girlfriend in Jungfraujoch on the top of Switzerland enjoying the beautiful views.

Q: Do you have a favorite song?

Well, at the moment, it is Shallow by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. I came to know it when I watched the film last year and I really liked it.

Q: Now for the last question: What do you like to do in your free time?

I like to be outdoors so any free time I have you can find me doing woodwork, sheet metal work, gardening, or hiking.

Employee Highlight: Stefan Frey

Monday, 19. August 2019 by AMROS

We are back in town with a new employee highlight! This time, we would like to introduce you to our newest member of Team AMROS: Stefan Frey! Have fun with the interview!

Meet Stefan Frey, Senior Technical Advisor / Continuing Airworthiness Manager at AMROS-Global. This month we would like to introduce him as our newest employee and share an insight into his role at AMROS.

Q: What did you do before working at AMROS?
Before AMROS, I worked for SR Technics for 27 years. I started as an aircraft maintenance engineer and later changed to the planning department. For the last 11 years, I was a project manager for various kinds of maintenance projects like heavy maintenance visits, modifications, Phase-in/Phase-outs etc.

Q: What is your current position and what does it entail? I am currently the Senior Technical Advisor/Continuing Airworthiness Manager since the end of May 2019. I am currently involved in different CAMO services for our customers, meaning I update aircraft statuses, create and delegate work packages and so on. Part of my position also entails updating the maintenance program for aircraft with tasks that need to be completed. On the other hand, I also perform pre-buy inspections, audits, maintenance check supervisions, and various aircraft transition activities.

Q: What do you like the most about your job?
What I like the most about my job is to work in a small team of very experienced colleagues and have the opportunity to work in the different fields of services that AMROS offers. Furthermore, I do like to have a certain flexibility in my working days depending on the projects, which is very well accepted here.

Q: What is the most challenging part of your job?
I would say its’s challenging because this area of work is not a straight line due to its constant changes. Since the market is constantly changing and adding regulations, it requires me to be adaptable, creative and open-minded.

Q: Do you have any advice for anyone who would like to work in your position?
First, a good knowledge of the aviation maintenance business is mandatory. This is not something you can study necessarily, but rather learn through years of experience because you must know what you are delegating. As I mentioned before, being open-minded, flexible, and open for changes is important for this job – although changes can be very interesting.

Q: What are 3 words you would use to describe AMROS?
I would say customer-oriented, innovative, and versatile.

And now for a little off-topic questions to conclude this interview ?

Q: If you could have any other job for one day, what would it be?
I think I would be Rockstar and perform in front of millions of people.

Q: What was the most embarrassing moment at work?
One time on a business trip, I had a connecting flight with 4-hour layover, and I missed the flight because they changed the time and I had no idea!

Q: If you could have dinner with any person (dead or alive), who would it be?
I would choose Rodger Federer because I am a big tennis fan and I play tennis myself.

Q: Let’s jump to the last question: Do you have any pet peeves?
Well, I don’t think anyone enjoys this, but it bothers me when someone isn’t being truthful.   Do you have any questions or business inquiries for Stefan? Please contact: Stefan Frey E-mail: stefan.frey@amros-global.com m.: +41 79 320 42 58
