Employee Highlight: Christian Tanner

Friday, 31. January 2020 by AMROS

Another year, another Employee Highlight! Today, we are introducing our colleague Christian Tanner to the world!

Happy reading!

Meet Christian Tanner, Senior Technical Advisor at AMROS-Global. This month we would like to introduce him as our employee highlight and share an insight about him and his role at AMROS.

Q: What did you do before working at AMROS?

Before AMROS, I was Head of Maintenance at Super Constellation for 1.5 years.

However, I got my start in aviation at Swiss Air in 1986 as a sheet metal worker and then later moved into material planning. From there I moved to maintenance planning and special cabin modifications, among other tasks. Additionally, I worked at SR Technics as a Project Manager for the HMV’s.

Q: What is your current position and what does it entail?

Since July 2019, I do the maintenance planning for customers and prepare some HMV’s as well as delegate work packages. In the future I hope to make a test for the ARC inspection Part-M in BAZL so that I can do these types of tasks as well.

Q: What do you like the most about your job?

I enjoy the flexible nature of the working hours and the fact that I know my colleagues really well because we worked together in the past, which makes a nice atmosphere.

Q: What is the most challenging part of your job?

For me, the change from SAP to AMOS has been very challenging because you need to know the system well in order to work efficiently. Today, there is a lot of on-the-job training involved.

Q: Do you have any advice for anyone who would like to work in your position?

Previous knowledge in the aviation industry would be ideal. For my position specifically, a Part-M test, Microsoft office proficient, and being flexible and able to learn quickly to be efficient.

Q: What are 3 words you would use to describe AMROS?

I would say young, straight-forward, and fast-growing.

And now for a little off-topic questions to conclude this interview ?

Q: If you could have any other job for one day, what would it be?

I would be like a bird because I love being up in the sky and as a bird, you have the possibility to have amazing views.

Q: What was your most rewarding moment at work?

I was once a part of a MD-11 VIP project which ran for more than 3 years. When it was completed, we flew we Hamburg and made the handover to a prince. It was an amazing experience.

Q: If you could have dinner with any person (dead or alive), who would it be?

I would choose to be with my girlfriend in Jungfraujoch on the top of Switzerland enjoying the beautiful views.

Q: Do you have a favorite song?

Well, at the moment, it is Shallow by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. I came to know it when I watched the film last year and I really liked it.

Q: Now for the last question: What do you like to do in your free time?

I like to be outdoors so any free time I have you can find me doing woodwork, sheet metal work, gardening, or hiking.

Do you have any questions or business inquiries for Christian? Please contact:

Employee Highlight: Stefan Frey

Monday, 19. August 2019 by AMROS

We are back in town with a new employee highlight! This time, we would like to introduce you to our newest member of Team AMROS: Stefan Frey! Have fun with the interview!

Meet Stefan Frey, Senior Technical Advisor / Continuing Airworthiness Manager at AMROS-Global. This month we would like to introduce him as our newest employee and share an insight into his role at AMROS.

Q: What did you do before working at AMROS?
Before AMROS, I worked for SR Technics for 27 years. I started as an aircraft maintenance engineer and later changed to the planning department. For the last 11 years, I was a project manager for various kinds of maintenance projects like heavy maintenance visits, modifications, Phase-in/Phase-outs etc.

Q: What is your current position and what does it entail? I am currently the Senior Technical Advisor/Continuing Airworthiness Manager since the end of May 2019. I am currently involved in different CAMO services for our customers, meaning I update aircraft statuses, create and delegate work packages and so on. Part of my position also entails updating the maintenance program for aircraft with tasks that need to be completed. On the other hand, I also perform pre-buy inspections, audits, maintenance check supervisions, and various aircraft transition activities.

Q: What do you like the most about your job?
What I like the most about my job is to work in a small team of very experienced colleagues and have the opportunity to work in the different fields of services that AMROS offers. Furthermore, I do like to have a certain flexibility in my working days depending on the projects, which is very well accepted here.

Q: What is the most challenging part of your job?
I would say its’s challenging because this area of work is not a straight line due to its constant changes. Since the market is constantly changing and adding regulations, it requires me to be adaptable, creative and open-minded.

Q: Do you have any advice for anyone who would like to work in your position?
First, a good knowledge of the aviation maintenance business is mandatory. This is not something you can study necessarily, but rather learn through years of experience because you must know what you are delegating. As I mentioned before, being open-minded, flexible, and open for changes is important for this job – although changes can be very interesting.

Q: What are 3 words you would use to describe AMROS?
I would say customer-oriented, innovative, and versatile.

And now for a little off-topic questions to conclude this interview ?

Q: If you could have any other job for one day, what would it be?
I think I would be Rockstar and perform in front of millions of people.

Q: What was the most embarrassing moment at work?
One time on a business trip, I had a connecting flight with 4-hour layover, and I missed the flight because they changed the time and I had no idea!

Q: If you could have dinner with any person (dead or alive), who would it be?
I would choose Rodger Federer because I am a big tennis fan and I play tennis myself.

Q: Let’s jump to the last question: Do you have any pet peeves?
Well, I don’t think anyone enjoys this, but it bothers me when someone isn’t being truthful.   Do you have any questions or business inquiries for Stefan? Please contact: Stefan Frey E-mail: stefan.frey@amros-global.com m.: +41 79 320 42 58

Employee Highlight: Stephan Bliggenstorfer

Tuesday, 30. April 2019 by AMROS

This month we are continuing with our employee highlight section and would like to present you Stephan Bliggenstorfer – our Continuing Airworthiness Manager!

Q: What did you do before working at AMROS?

Before AMROS, I worked 19 years for SR Technics in the engine department and then transferred to fleet and technical management. Growing up, my parents worked for SWISSAIR, so I think it was in my blood to work in the aviation industry.

Q: How long have you been working at AMROS?

I have been working for AMROS since February 2018, where I started working on phase-in projects and on-site support. From June 2018 and on, I have been responsible for CAMO activities.

Q: How has AMROS helped your career development?

For me, it has been the opportunity to come close to the aircraft operation because before I was at the end of the line so to speak. Now, I’m more involved with the operational processes which I enjoy much more.

Q: What is your current position and what does it entail?

I have been working as Continuing Airworthiness Manager since June 2018. My position consists of updating aircraft statuses, flight hours, planning items, operator regarding checks to carry out, component changes, etc.

Q: Could you give us a ‘Day in the Life’ of your position?

I start off my day with having my first cup of coffee.  During this time, I’m entering the Flight Hours / Cycles for our Customers into AMOS and then reading and corresponding my emails. After that, I start preparing the Work packages for the daily work and check-in with our contacts regarding any other important issues. Later, I move on to updating the system with any new requirements while corresponding with the customer simultaneously. Regulations and/or system updates can change from one day to the next, so on some days the system update takes longer than others.

Q: What do you like the most about your job?

What I like the most about my job is that I have the freedom to work flexible. The flexibility in the working day creates a positive working environment.

Q: What is most challenging part of your job?

The most challenging part of my job is to be up to date with all the changes in the airlines industry. As I mentioned before, regulations can change from one day to another whether small or big, which require a system update. Also, it’s important to be up to date with the many aircraft types and what’s going on in the market.

Q: Do you have any advice for anyone who would like to work in your position?

They should bring experience in the aviation industry and have an open mind to learn new things, have flexibility and be prepared to work outside of office hours. When there is an emergency from the client, it requires immediate investigation and sometimes that is out of office hours.

Q: What has been your favorite project since working at AMROS?

I have enjoyed working on various projects since I’ve been working here, but my favorite has been since I took over the CAMO responsibilities for various clients.

Q: What are 3 words you would use to describe AMROS?

I would say AMROS is solution-oriented, familial, and constant.

And now for a little off topic questions to conclude this interview ?

Q: If you could have any other job for one day, what would it be?

That’s easy, I would be an archeologist. I always had a fascination with history and I would love to experience this field of work.  My fascination came from knowing you can identify where something came from or trace back the significance in that time in history. I traveled all over Egypt in my youth and found these amazing places to study such as Valley of kings, Luxor, Cairo etc.

Q: If you could have dinner with any person (dead or alive), who would it be?

To be honest, I would choose my friends and family because they are the most important people in my life.

Q: Let’s jump to the last question: Do you have any pet peeves?

My biggest pet peeve would have to be when people are late. In Switzerland, we take pride in being prompt, so it’s not a polite thing when someone is late! ?

We are incredibly happy and proud to unveil our new logo.
After many years of being established, we are releasing a new brand identity.

Our new logo is revealed!

When AMROS was established years ago, no one could have predicted how far we would come, along with the many moments and success stories we have behind us. Yet, here we are almost 10 years later, and decided it was time for a new and updated visual change to create a new identity.

Today, we undergo a rebranding transformation to reflect the company’s evolution over the years which includes a top-to-bottom resign of the website, logo, and communications. Striving to maintain our recognizable logo in some way was the primary goal. This was achieved by deconstructing our old logo and modernizing some elements for a fresher look and bold blue color to match.

“We wanted our new logo to represent change, growth and a brighter future… we believe the new look better matches what we’ve evolved into since 2010: Providing the best end-to-end solutions in the market for our clients.”  Eros Tavani, CEO, AMROS Global.

All this has been a lot of work and we’re excited to finally share our news with you. Tell us what you think. Do you like what we’ve done so far?

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support. We look forward to serving you with this new branding.

We hope you like this new look and feel for AMROS as much as we do!

Kind regards,
Team AMROS

Introducing our new Employee Highlight!

Friday, 15. March 2019 by AMROS

We are pleased to introduce a new Employee Highlight section.

Over the next couple of months, we will pick each of our employees and present them to you so you can get to know us even better!
This month we start off with Giuseppe Renga, Business Development Manager at AMROS.

You can read the interview down below – have fun reading and if any question arises, feel free to contact Giuseppe directly ?

Employee Highlight #1 – Giuseppe Renga

Q: What did you do before working at AMROS?

Before I joined AMROS, I was working for a Swiss private bank where I was managing portfolios from Asia and the Middle East. However, I always had this strong connection with aviation and knew working in a bank wouldn’t be forever.

Q: How long have you been working at AMROS?

In 2012, I was given the opportunity to work for AMROS as a part-time job while I was studying. During this time, I built up the entire back office and then after my studies, moved into business development. Here I quickly realized that aviation was my passion.

Q: How has AMROS helped your career development?

AMROS has given me the opportunity to work independently, bring my own ideas to the table and be responsible for substantial company decisions from early on. It has helped me in my development to become more independent and quickly adapt to a corporate and market environment.

Q: What is your current position and what does it entail?

I have been working as Business Development Manager since June 2018. Given the size of AMROS, my position covers a wide range of responsibilities such as: overseeing the company budget, regular analysis of the market, discussions with suppliers and partners, relationship management and key account management.  I have a heavy involvement in the strategic and operational management of the company and work to enhance our portfolio and access new markets. More importantly, I am preparing AMROS for the era of digitalization.

Q: Could you give us a ‘Day in the Life’ of your position?

It’s tough to say because every day is different, but my usual routine looks like this:

-7:00 am: Checking and answering emails from our Asian partners
-7: 30 am: Reading market updates
-8:30 am: Team meeting
-10:00 am: Discussing project updates
-11:00 am: Answering and returning phone calls
-Lunch and quick workout to stay fresh and focused

Afternoon: Speaking with partners and/or suppliers from America and discussing current developments
End of day: Working on ongoing consulting activities

Due to our international and fast paced setting, not every day is the same at AMROS although I try to keep a schedule or routine to get the most out of the day.

Q: What do you like the most about your job?

As I mentioned before, I have the freedom to work individually and I enjoy the fact that every day is different. It is a great working environment but requires a lot self-discipline to stay on top of what needs to get done.

Q: What is most challenging part of your job?

No day in my job is the same as the previous one. Answering to a complex environment daily with different requirements can be tough, however, at the same time it is also the most exciting thing. I love the challenge of coming to work and finding myself in a new situation every day and helping each customer individually as they require or, my favorite thing, providing long-term solutions.

Q: Do you have any advice for anyone who would like to work in your position?

In my position you need to have a high amount of drive and determination and actively bring in ideas. Thinking beyond usual tasks and thinking about customers perspectives. Be prepared to talk to a lot of people and answer difficult questions and travel around a lot…it’s aviation after all. ?

Q: What has been your favorite project since working at AMROS?

My favorite projects are right now. We are working on very interesting things that that require us to go into new directions and setting the tone for the upcoming years. Also, the partnership that we have established with AviTrader was and is still a great endeavor.

Q: What has been your proudest moment during your time at AMROS?

I have two proudest moments at the company. I will never forget the excitement in bringing your very first customer. Also, building up the back office of AMROS and achieving almost 100% digital operation is a great feeling.

Q: What are 3 words you would use to describe AMROS?

Independent, solution-oriented, and collaborative.

Q: What has been your most embarrassing moment at work?

The first time I met a potential client (which today is a key customer), I messed up the pronunciation of his last name…so we went on first-name basis.

Q: If you could have any other job for one day, what would it be?

Every time I get the chance to be in the cockpit of an aircraft, I ask myself if I should have become a pilot.

Q: Let’s jump to the last question: Who would play you in a movie about yourself?

I like funny movies and I think Jonah Hill is super funny. Jonah Hill, definitely!
